PAUL HITCHCOCK (TASI) SERVICE CAREER
Joined the Royal Navy along with his twin brother Peter in September 1962 as a Junior Seaman . After completing initial training at HMS GANGES, he joined HMS VERNON to qualify as a UC Basic. (Peter qualified as a UW). In 1964 he joined his first operational ship HMS DIANA in the Far East and after completing three years onboard her he was drafted back to HMS VERNON in 1967 to complete the UC2 Course. On completion he was drafted to HMS OSPREY as Ships Company and thereafter to HMS SIRIUS where he passed his Fleet Board for L/Sea.
He again joined HMS VERNON in 1969 to complete the UC1 Course and shortly after was drafted back to sea onboard HMS FALMOUTH to see service in the Far East. During this time he passed the Fleet Board for Petty Officer. In 1973 he was drafted back to HMS VERNON to complete the TASI Course. Once Qualified he joined the Instructional Staff ,
